Kirtland Temple
“The Kirtland Temple still stands as it did over one hundred and seventy years ago. Kirtland, Ohio was the first gathering place of the early saints and was where they sacrificed all they had to build their first temple in this dispensation. Although there were troubling times to follow, for a brief season, all was well in Zion and the saints prospered. I tried to capture Kirtland as it may have actually looked based on an old daguerreotype from the early days. Notice that the roof of the temple is lit up as if the glory of heaven is resting upon it. Such was the description of the temple during the sacred events which occurred at its dedication.”
